Pierre Morrel’s Taken is a French action thriller that gives you an edge of the seat excitement for the full duration of the movie. The movie revolves around the kidnapping the daughter of an ex-CIA operative. However, they were unaware of what kind of dedicated father they were dealing with.

A divorced ex – CIA operative named Bryan Mills is over protective about her daughter Kim (Maggie Grace). Though he initially refused but ultimately gives in and signs the consent form to allow her daughter to travel to Paris with her friend Amanda. So she arrives in Paris with her friend but is abducted from the apartment where they are staying by a group of unknown young men. Before she gets nabbed she just had the time to give a brief description of the abductors to her father over the cell phone.

The drama begins when Kim, their daughter, seeks Bryan’s consent so that she can go to Paris with one of her friends. After much reluctance Bryan gives in but makes her promise that she will call her regularly. He even gives her an international cell phone for the purpose. Kim arrives at Paris with her friend Amanda and puts up in an apartment. Very soon they nabbed by a bunch of unknown people right from their apartment. Kim was on call at that point of time and she just had the time to give some descriptions of the abductors to her dad, Bryan makes a promise – he will find her at any cost.

Just after this the pace of the movie changes and we see high voltage action from now on. Bryan is able to follow leads and pin down one guy after another and comes menacingly close to the main culprits. The desperation of a father is clearly shown as Liam threatens one of the bad guys over the phone in clear terms “I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you”.

The trailers of the movie did not give out any major detail of the story. So kudos to the makers of the film for that. Pierre and his team have easily delivered the best action thriller of the year. The action sequences are the highlight of this movie.

The film showcases some real good performances from all the actors. One of the better performances comes from Liam Neeson and Maggie Grace. Liam Neeson as a desperate father gives a brilliant performance and this role is quite different from the kind of roles he has essayed before. Maggie Grace is convincing as her daughter but has very little to do in a film which is action oriented.

If you are a fan of action thrillers, you must watch this movie. If you are not then also you need to watch this movie. In a nutshell, the movie is so good that everyone should watch this movie. But if you are finding it hard to find time to watch this movie at a theater then you can definitely watch Taken online free right from your PC.
