When films are mentioned, most people immediately think of Hollywood. Some may be surprised, however, to know that in terms of sheer production volume, India is by far the industry leader, followed by the U. S. A. And China. The year 2009 witnessed the creation of more than 1288 films in the various languages of India. Because there are large numbers of Indians living outside the country, watching an Uyirvani Tamil movie download is an excellent way to keep up with cinema from home.

In fact, the Indian film industry has become global in scope. Due to favorable corporate investment policies, recognized foreign film studios such as Disney, Warner Brothers and 20th Century Fox have all produced pictures here, as have many other companies. Recognized today as a formidable and powerful market force in the world of film today, the industry has watched as ticket and related music sales skyrocketed.

The Kodambakkam District of Chennai in India is home base to these films, causing the area to become known internationally as “Kollywood”, with the South Indian State of Tamil Nadu as its capital. While cinema production worldwide has often traditionally been associated with the United States, the movie industry has existed here in India nearly as long, and was producing silent pictures in 1916.

Film productions from India have become a cultural influence in other countries. During the period from the 1920s to the 1950s, American musicals with their elaborate costumes and romantic plots were very popular, and now the influence is flowing in the opposite direction. Successful American films such as “Moulin Rouge” paid homage to the genre, as did the Oscar-winning “Slumdog Millionaire”.

That portion of the Indian film industry featuring this South-Indian language has become enormous. Outside India, it ranks number two in terms of worldwide distribution and revenue. In addition to film production, many of its associates have become politically involved, with some successfully running for elected office. The industry here has proven to be instrumental in creating and utilizing many advanced creative and technical aspects of modern motion-picture making.

As the industry evolved on the subcontinent, the city of Chennai has become central to film-making in a variety of languages, including the introduction of Sri Lankan films during the nineteen-sixties. These films are distributed to nearly all parts of the world where the people of India have re-located, including Africa, Asia, North America and Europe.

Most cities with an international flair have a theater that features predominately Indian work. If that is not available locally, however, there are now Internet websites specializing in providing films for download. The Indian Social Networking location Uyirvani is one such site. It now features MP3 and movie downloads, in addition to popular television programs.

Be sure to respect all copyright laws when reproducing films on your computer. Many associated websites offer a speedy Uyirvani Tamil movie download, so be sure to check before proceeding. Remember that the act of downloading is absolutely legal, but if those files are copyrighted, then downloading without permission is not within the law. Otherwise, enjoy the latest in entertainment that speaks your language.

Film Studies is the name given to an academic field of study that analyzes the critical appreciation of cinema as an art together with the role it plays in society and culture. Film theorists argue that the discipline concerns itself with how best to view movies and understand all their meanings. The subject forms part of the larger disciplines of media and culture studies.

The subject is not focused on the technical aspects of filmmaking or production. Rather it is concerned with exploring its non-technical aspects such as the narrative, aesthetics, artistic, ideological, cultural, economic, and political implications of cinema.

Graduates of cinema studies generally pursue a career in non-technical fields such as film criticism, journalism and media analysis. They also select the subject as a non-major component of programs of study focused on the technical aspects of filmmaking.

Given the dominance of Hollywood movie commercialism in shaping popular culture, the strong influence of European and other countries on movie production and theory may surprise many people. For example, the Moscow Film School established in 1919 was the first school focused on cinema anywhere in the world.

As another example, Frenchman Andre Bazin is generally acknowledged to be the first cinema theorist. He writings date back to 1943 during World War II in 1943, when he was only 25 years old. Soon after, in 1951, he co-founded the widely read Cahiers du cinema magazine with two other colleagues, Joseph-Marie Lo Duca and Jacques Doniol-Valcroze. His writings remain an influential voice in contemporary cinema circles.

Perhaps the most controversial of all of the views of Bazin on cinema was his support for appreciative criticism alone. He believed that only critics that liked a movie had a legitimate basis to review and assess it. Clearly this is a restrictive stance. It is also an extreme view all the more so since Bazin was himself a prominent critic.

These two volumes became key texts for many film courses in the English-speaking world, but were never updated or revised. In 2009, a specialist Canadian publisher of film texts, Caboose, spotted an opportunity to take advantage of the relatively favorable copyright laws prevailing in Canada. Caboose compiled fresh translations of many of the most important essays and published them as a new single-volume with annotations by translator Timothy Barnard. That text became the only corrected and annotated edition of the original Bazin writings.

Bazin argued that the best objective for films was to attempt to present an objective reality. He therefore favored documentaries and films in the style of Italian neorealism. From a technical perspective he argued that directors should seek to make themselves invisible; advocated the use of deep focus or large depth of field (favored, for example by Orson Welles) and wide shots (Jean Renoir). Bazin also supported lack of montage, that is, extended continuity through mise en scene rather than montage editing and special effects. All of these Bazin viewpoints are challenged by the modern film studies community. Bazin is nevertheless celebrated as having been an original thinker in his time.

Tarintino had to start somewhere. Film school can open the door to a lucrative and enjoyable career. The industry requires hard work and long hours so get started at a Canadian Art Institute. If film does not interest you then try taking web design courses or photography courses.

Well, it seems YouTube is okay with me leaving this up, as long as I don’t “monetize” it. So here’s the Blackstar review, folks, back intact. But needless to say, this will be the last review video that uses clips. The last thing I want is to get shut down for being too thorough in my reviews. :P But rest assured, I WILL continue doing DVD Reviews, and I will continue to cover each title with as much depth as I have in the past. Just without clips. Maybe some stills (pretty sure they’re okay), but that’s it. Anyhoo, enjoy the review!

In many ways, Blackstar was the pre-cursor to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. An under appreciated little gem from Filmation, I’ve always actually preferred Blackstar over He-Man.

The complete series was recently released on DVD by BCI Eclipse, and for such an obscure series that few people know about, they really gave it the royal treatment! Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

Alas, since Geocities shut down, the Blackstar website I talk about in the video is no longer available. Which sucks. It was hilarious to read as a companion to/parody of the show.

What is going on with the family Guy Stewie character? He is smarter than the average thirty year old, never mind the average baby. This program has left more than a few questions are answered, not to mention creating some controversy.

Still, he is one year old going on thirty five. But what’s with the accent? Stewie sounds more like he comes from London than his Rhode Island home. This is just too funny. This is like a person growing up in Paris, and somehow acquiring a Bronx New York accent. Another thing, why is it that Brian can understand him. But no one else seems to be able to?

Why is Stewie intent on killing Lois? Why does he really hate her so much? In fact does he really hate her at all? We have probably all seen the episodes that suggest that he does not. In fact, perhaps he is desperately in need of her love. It seems that the story line has suggested this on at least several occasions.

How does Family Guy Brian, the dog, travel freely just about everywhere that he wants to go? It seems that Brian has an easier time passing through airport security than Ted Kennedy did, and he does this alone, or worse, with Stewie in tow. Let’s not even consider how he continues to find human girlfriends… All of this while still occasionally peeing on fire hydrants and dragging himself across carpets.

While on the subject of Brian, do dogs really drink so much? This may explain how he happened to meet Peter downtown, while spit washing his windshield. Perhaps this is why so many dogs find themselves in the shelters looking for homes. Maybe all they really need is a bit of time to dry out, a warm meal, and a job to go to. This all kind of makes Snoopy look like a reasonable character.

How about poor Meg? Why does everyone hate her so much? Seriously, in real life Peter and Lois would have had their children taken away by children’s services many times over. That is of course assuming that they would not have already run away. Peter acts as the stripper at Meg’s batchelorette party? Eww, if that is not the grossest thing ever, even for a cartoon, yuck!

As much of a buffoon as Family Guy Peter is, people can not help but continuing to root for him. He is sort of the underdog though, so this sort of makes sense. However, Peter is not all bad. After all he did save all of the Quahog bomb survivors by finding the Natick Twinkie factory…

Satire? Sarcasm? Closer to life than some may like to admit? I guess we will all have to judge for ourselves. Either way, Family Guy is a pretty popular show, and pretty amusing… Giggity!

Mr O Connell is is an huge fan of family guy Brian. Family guy peter is the main character in the hit show.
