There are some shows on the ABC network that have attained iconic status with many fans. One of these shows is the V(2009) show that is a sci-fi show which started airing from November, 2009. The origin of the show was way back in 1983, when the show started as a miniseries and was created by Kenneth Johnson. The main plot of V(2009) is based on the arrival of the Visitors, who are aliens into the earth in a large number of spaceships. But Erica Evans, an FBI agent suspects their true motives and tries to find out what is the real reason for which they have arrived on earth. To her horror she finds that the Visitors have infiltrated the government, institutions like religion centers as well as society with an aim of gaining control of the earth. In her quest, she is aided by counter alien force.
The cast of V (2009) includes the role of Erica Evans which is played by Elizabeth Mitchell. The role of Ryan Nichols is played by Morris Chestnut where Ryan is one of the Visitors. Joel Gretsch plays the role of Father Jack Landry who is one of the counter alien’s forces. In addition there is Logan Hoffman who plays the role of Erica’s teenage son Tyler who has as his love interest Lisa, a beautiful visitor where the role of Lisa is played by Lourdes Benedicto.
The V (2009) was announced back in May 2009, when it was also informed that Scott peters, Jace Hal, Steve Perlman and Jeffrey Bell would be the executive producers of the show. There were pilot episodes of the show that were filmed on August 10, 2009. It was also said that the original miniseries would be done justice to and also complimented by V (2009).
There was a further announcement in September 2009 that V(2009) would have 4 shows aired in November 2009 with the remain 9 show of the 13 part series being show in March, 2010 after the completion of the Winter Olympics in Canada.
V (2009) has had a fairly successful run, with some of the reviews giving it 67 points out of a possible 100. Critics and reviewers have said that while it is fast paced and racy, it is able to carve out a niche for itself quite effectively.
