Hollywood has seen a lot of fantasy movies in the last few years, but one movie that towers above the rest is The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King movie. It is a rare masterpiece that has stretched our imagination to the max and satisfied our fantasy desires. Director Peter Jackson is the brain child behind this magnificent movie and should get most of the credit for taking the initiative to create such a work of genius.

The movie by itself is brilliant, though it would be unfair to call it the best of the trilogy as each movie has been right up there with the bests. The movie starts off exactly where the story was left at the end of the Two Towers movie and grabs your attention right from the start.

The special effects in this movie are outstanding, especially with the character of Gollum. Also, the battle scenes in this movie are grander and monumentally bigger than any other movie ever. Adding to the entire effect is the brilliant music score that is powerful and yet manages to remain elegant and beautiful.

Another important feature of this movie is that, all the main characters have their most glorifying moments in this movie. Take for instance Merry and Pippin. After Gandalf takes Pippin away, the two friends are separated and each individually does things that put their names up with the legends of the story. Also, Aragon is about to receive the highest honor and is returning to be the King.

Every character in the movie has given an exceptional performance and helped make this movie such a grand success. In addition, the director adds his touch by picking some of the most stunning locations to shoot his movie.

The saddest part for most die-hard Lord of the Rings fans is that this is it. There will be no other movie that will be launched with a similar set of talented people. But it makes one thing very clear, that it was by far the best fantasy trilogy ever to be made.
