When one considers entry level high definition TV sets, one hardly expects to see a set capable of producing a full 1080p resolution. One entry level set that does just that is the Panasonic Viera TX-L32S10. This 32 inch viewable set produces very high quality HD images and costs less than most models with this capability.

The biggest drawback noted with the Panasonic TX-L32S10 is the lack of ability to calibrate the backlighting and colour output from the onscreen menu. The menu used on this set is very simple and easy to understand, an advantage to the average user, but lacks some of the functionality enjoyed by more advanced users.

At SD and 720p resolution, the screen of the TX-L32S10 has 1:1 pixel mapping functionality, making it reproduce digital input images to the truest resolution possible. At 1080p, this no longer holds true as the pixel mapping is not able to hold the 1:1 ratio. There does not appear to be any edge enhancement, making the edges appear slightly soft at 1080p resolution. This seems to favour gamers using the higher end 60p games available for xbox 360 and PS3.

The lack of ability to map pixels at 1:1 does pose a disadvantage for those who wish to use the TX-L32S10 as a monitor for text based computer applications. This is, however, a condition that will not be likely to be seen as a real problem by anyone looking for a top quality high definition set at a reasonable price.

You may think that you’re going to lose somewhere with this low priced set, probably with the sound quality. However, once again, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The sound quality is great, especially when you look at the placement of the speakers – pointing slightly downwards. Panasonic was obviously trying to make front presentation as good as possible on the Panasonic TX-L32S10 but they could have taken a little more consideration when it came to placement. However, this doesn’t cause any lack of quality sound.

If you’re accustomed to more home theatre types of sound, it’s easy to take care of with the Panasonic TX-L32S10. You can easily install a surround sound system and make the walls quake.

Let’s face it, this is a very basic, entry level high definition TV. However, the Panasonic TX-L32S10 is full of surprises. I really can’t believe the low price that you pay for this high of quality images. You will find that there is sharpness with this model that you just don’t find elsewhere, especially not for the price. If you are one who has issue with slight colour issues, you may be unhappy with the redness of skin tones, but again, it is really not an awfully big issue. Most people will never notice it. Just keep in mind that you’re getting an awful lot for a little price tag.

Sizing up the Panasonic TX-P50G20 plasma television reveals one of this Japanese television manufacturer’s more memorable accomplishments for 2010. It’s made to replace the G10 lineup of plasma screen TVs, and it’s improved upon the performance aspects of these Viera-class TVs in almost every performance measurement criteria, which is an impressive accomplishment in and of itself.

As always, Panasonic (which prides itself on its ability to throw in a new improvement or feature whatever it upgrades its line of televisions) has added something new and different, in this case the Freeview-HD tuning filter. Pretty much knew in the UK, it allows its owners to view certain satellite channels with no need of a satellite dish or other external equipment.

When it comes to the quality of the picture put out by this new TV, most anybody who’s had a chance to assess it relates that it’s uniformly excellent across-the-board. That’s because Panasonic has taken its well-working NeoPDP technology suite and used it to complement the 1080p true high-def display in ways that make it superior to older 720p models of just a few years ago.

This is bolstered by the fact of the Panasonic’s contrast ratio, which comes in at an impressive 5,000,000 to 1. Colors will look extremely colorful and rich while whites will be very bright and blacks will be super-deep. As an on-screen picture display goes, most owners will find very little to quibble over when it comes to what they see on the plasma screen, as a matter of fact.

Panasonic makes all of this possible by making use of its innovative “Intelligent Frame Creation Pro” system, which works quite well with the included 600 Hz control engine. This combination of system in engine helps to make the on-screen movement (even if it’s moving very quickly) look super-sharp and absolutely free of any blurring or smearing as well as artifacts.

The quality of the sound put out by the Panasonic is also uniformly excellent, and the Japanese television maker looks to have worked extremely hard to make sure that all of their Viera-class TVs for 2010 are now THX-certified. Of course, hooking up a good surround sound system will only bolster the already-excellent sound quality being reproduced, so keep that in mind.

In fact, hooking up anything — in terms of components — will be very easy to do, considering that the TV includes several HDMI input ports and two different USB 2.0 ports. DVD players, video game consoles and even desktop and laptop computers will connect to the TV quite easily and relatively quickly, no matter how intricate they may appear to be.

In the end, after just a short period of assessment, one will find much to like about the Panasonic TX-P50G20 plasma screen television. It’s a 50 inch behemoth that manages all of its on-screen duties quite well, it must be said. And, at a price of only 1400 British pounds (with VAT), it’s a sure bet that many consumers will look at it and put it on their “must have” list for Christmas this 2010.

The Sony KDL-32EX503 is a new Bravia TV that Sony is introducing in 2010. It is 32 inches and will cost approximately 700 pounds. This makes it relatively affordable for most consumers. This model has been improved over earlier models of this television. The TV offers many settings and features that offer the user clear and comfortable viewing.

The television’s hi-def resolution is set at 1920×1080. Viewers will experience a high quality picture when watching hi def TV. In addition, it combines this screen resolution with MotionFlow 100hz technology. This technology keeps fast moving pictures clear and not blurry. This is most noticeable in sports programs or movies with fast action scenes.

The television offers connectivity for a variety of devices. Users can connect their TV to the internet. They can also use the TV to view their photos and plug in USB devices. This model has four HDMI inputs that work with Blu-Ray Players, Playstations and others. The television also offers parental controls.

The TV has a function that senses how much light is in the room and adjusts the picture. This ambient sensor function makes watching TV easier on the viewer’s eyes. There are also four colour features for the user to choose from. The LiveColour features include settings for Off, Low, Medium and High. This allows the user to choose how they want colours to look.

Sound is adjustable and optimized in several ways. The speakers are hidden but placed to provide the best angle for sound. S-Force Front Surround technology works with the speakers to offer digital surround sound. This provides a quality sound experience.

The television provides eco friendly options that use less energy. Power saving adjusts to reduce the amount of power the set uses by reducing the backlighting in dim rooms. This also makes the TV more comfortable to watch. If the TV hasn’t sense any activity in some time, it will automatically shut off. The sleep mode allows users to tell the TV when to turn off. If the TV is connected to a computer, it will switch to standby if it’s been 30 seconds since it received a signal.

SceneSelect allows the user to push one button on the remote and change the settings to preset, optimized settings. The remote can be used to run other devices that are attached to the TV. This universal remote feature gives users the convenience of all-in-one functionality.

The TV tuners are built in to the set. The digital tuner is included and users don’t need a set-top box for digital channels offered over the air. The model also has a high definition tuner built in. This means that people don’t need a separate box for hi-def channels. This TV is a good choice for those looking to get ready for the switch to digital television.

The Sony KDL32EX503 is known as the KDL32EX502 in Europe and uses a different HD tuner. This tuner is called the MPEG4 AVC HD tuner. With the exception of this difference, the two models are the same.

The Sony KDL-32EX503 is the next generation from Sony and incorporates Bravia technology. It allows users to attach several devices, look at photos and optimize their sound and picture experience. Customers can expect to spend around 700 pounds for this television. At 32 inches, it’s a good fit for many homes.
