The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 movie is a thriller that grabs you from the word go. John Travolta and Denzel Washington, two of Hollywoods most famous actors, star in this exciting film which is a 1974 movie remake. Tony Scott, the director of this movie, has made a few changes to the story, giving it a personal treatment that adds much to the movie in terms of suspense and nervous excitement.

On the other hand, John Travolta who plays the role of Ryder has taken the train and its passengers as hostage and is demanding $10 million from the mayor. Ryder threatens the mayor that if he doesnt receive the sum in an hour, he will start killing one hostage every minute.

Both Travolta and Washington deliver winning performances throughout the movie. While Travolta comes across as a genuine sadistic and intelligent villain, Washington brings a low-key geeky character to life.

Another noteworthy performance is given by John Turturro, who plays the role of a police negotiator. Although his role is limited due to the storyline (as Ryder only agrees to talk to Walter) he plays his short role to perfection.

You can expect to be swept away by this intense and well edited movie. Viewers are assailed with thoughts of whether or not Ryder will pull the plug on the hostages by shooting them one by one. The movie is this years best portrayal of a hostage scene in a realistic sense thats not over the top.

The latest romantic comedy on the blocks, The Proposal stars Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. Sandra Bullock doubles up as the producer of The Proposal Movie. Sandra plays Margaret who is a very ambitious and career-driven editor who works at a publishing company in New York City. One of the biggest blockbuster movies of this past summer, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. This movie picks up after the events that took place in the extremely successful first enstallment of the franchise, Transformers. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen offers everything an action lover would want in a summer hit, great special effects, especially the CGI robots, fight scenes, explosions, and lots of fast paced action as the heros race around the globe to avert the latest crisis. This movie, while maybe not as good as its predecessor, is still a perfect combination of action and sci-fi that will entertain any fan of the first movie.

Michael Bay, well known for his action movies, and massive explosions, is back behing the camera directing this sequel, and it is evident throughout the film. The non stop action and excitement are typical of what you would expect from a Michael Bay movie, such as Armageddon or The Rock. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen also has all of the familiar faces from the first movie return, including Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and John Turturro. Tuturro’s role as both the mentor to LaBeouf, and the comic relief in the movie, really stands out, which should not be a surprise considering how talented of an actor he is.

Tranformers: Revenge of the Fallen may not be as suitable for younger children as the first Transformers movie was. There are several scenes where both robots and humans use profain language, and their are also several scenes that are sexually suggestive. The movie is rated PG-13, so if you have children under 13 who want to see the movie you probably should watch it first and then decide if it is appropriate for your kids.

The special effects in Tranformers: Revenge of the Fallen are superior to the first Transformers movie, with more robots, more action and more explosions. The movie does fall short of its predecessor when it comes to the story, though. While anyone choosing to watch the movie knows they are not going to be seeing a dramatic, moving story, the story does fall short of the original, and does feel a little contrived at times. The Blu-ray and extended DVD versions of the movie offer many great extras, and offer some insight as to how the movie was made. Both versions also offer some people’s favorite part of the movie, deleted scenes.

This movie is not quite as good as the first in the series and I am sure we will get to see if they put the story telling back together for the third one in a couple of years. I am sure they have already started working on it.
